Jealousy or Too Overconfident?

I know that some of you out there do not listen to country music. Nor do you have any intention of even liking it. Therefore, you didn't watch the CMA Awards show last night on television. I however, quite enjoy country music, and I did catch the last part of the program. Even though you don't listen to this kind of music, many of you I do know, watch a little show called American Idol.

Last years winner, Carrie Underwood, is tearing up country music. She has already won a few awards, but last night she won Female Vocalist of the Year. She was up against some of country music's best such as Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, and Gretchen Wilson. The best part of this show was not simply the fact that this young girl just beat out these other amazing female singers, but the reaction of Faith Hill when she realized she just lost to the American Idol girl. I actually kind of thought that Faith Hill was going to win, so when the screen showed a live shot of all of the nominees, I was watching Faith to see her reaction. Apparently Faith thought she was going to win too. (If that link doesn't work, then try this and click the link at the bottom of the page. You are going to want to fast forward till about 2:40 left in the main video stream.)

I saw the reaction, and quickly turned to my mom to see if she noticed it too. She did not. This morning at work I asked my co-wokers and sissy if they saw it, and none of them did either. None of them believed me either. My friend Jaime told me that it was on the news, so I knewthen, that I wasn't just seeing things! The articles state that Faith says she was just kidding, but you can see in the video that she was irked a bit by the news she wasn't the winner!

Sucks for Faith Hill--this will be good for her self-esteem.

Even though I'm not a country music fan.....I love Carrie Underwood. I totally voted for her on American Idol and am so glad to see her doing so well (unlike some of the other winners of the show, with the exception of Kelly Clarkson). She definitely has talent.

Yeah...I don't know...I really like Faith Hill for the most part. But, my feeling is that it was a true reaction and she is now just trying to make it look better. I'm sure that it would be a surprise to lose to Carrie Underwood since she is still so new to this.

On the other hand, way to go Carrie! I really like her too. It's impressive to see how far she has come. :)

I laughed my face off when I saw it on the news. They coupled it with a story about Faith railing on a concert audience for half an hour cause some lady grabbed Tim's butt on the way in. Deal, chica. You decided to marry Tim and that means dealing with people grabbing his butt.
I also think Carrie Underwood is a cutie-girl. Sean likes her cause she's from Oklahoma.

I think it was a total joke. She's back stage (waiting to present or perform or just having done so), they had to find the woman and ask her to stand there and listen to the announcement, she knows theres a camera right in front of her face, its not like she didn't know. Its four feet in front of her. I think she was definitly having a bit of fun. Anyone in the public eye as much as Faith is knows how to put her best face forward at all times, and I am positive she has lost an award in the past. It was a joke that people are blowing completely out of proportion (What the media stirring up controversy??? No way!). I don't feel in the least that it was genuine emotion. And lastly... I could care less about Faith Hill OR Carrie Underwood. So I am completely unbiased. :)

Oh hey YEAH...
One last thing. I'm much more interested in the fact that no one has started a controversy about the fact that Faith's Hubby, Mr McGraw now has hair. I mean.... come on...

He's not just a member....

Heh.

Did you see cute little Carrie defending Faith on Oprah the other day? Seh even said that Faith called to apologize and assure her that she was just playing around.
